The 4LA3 Grand River Hospital provides exceptional care to patients in Waterloo-Wellington, Ontario through highly experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate professionals. 4GRH provides a comprehensive range of care to patients across two main campuses, six partner locations for cancer and kidney care and three community treatment centres. 4GRH employs over 3,200 highly skilled and dedicated employees, over 600 professional staff (such as physicians and midwives) and over 1,000 volunteers.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Integration Officer is a highly influential and visible leader with overall accountability for ensuring efficient patient movement throughout the hospital and partner systems. Serving as the Chief Integration Officer, the CIO will lead programs aimed at expanding community partnerships, ensuring departments within the hospital are communicating effectively, establishing efficient patient movement within the hospital and to other institutions, and developing resources for caregivers to better facilitate at-home caregiving. The CIO will lead service delivery transformation strategies and oversee the implementation of a culture of quality, safety and exceptional experience. With accountability for the organization’s Legal, Quality, Risk, and Patient Relations functions the CIO will develop and oversee the execution of strategies resulting in best in class performance.
The ideal candidate will have successful senior operational experience as an executive leader in a complex health system. Have demonstrated experience developing trusting partnerships, and embody integrity, authenticity and 4GRH’s values. They are a skilled strategic leader, exceptional communicator and relationship builder with demonstrated success in working with a wide range of constituents. They will understand the important role that friends, family and caregivers play in the health system, and have experience as a caregiver. They will have extensive healthcare experience and an understanding of, and commitment to, an environment that is continually challenged by a need for excellence, while experiencing significant human and financial resource constraints. Possessing clinical credentials, you also bring a Masters degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or other relevant post graduate degree to this critical role.

- Fostering partnerships within the hospital and greater community
- Building relationships with, and resources for, friends and family caregivers
- Developing efficient communication systems between hospital departments
- Cultivating systems to better relocate patients between hospital departments and facilities.
- Guarantee patient services are done in a timely manner
- Ensuring Resident and Employee Safety and well-being
- Achieving Resident Satisfaction Survey and Employee Engagement Survey targets
- Providing quality clinical services based on the needs and requirements of each individual resident
- Ensuring that all care and services provided for are billed and labour aligned

What You Will Do
- Collaborate - Work with the Executive Director, Regional Clinical team and departmental managers to maximize resident satisfaction.
- Consult and Create - Participate in Care Conferences, complete all resident assessments and develop service plans.
- Manage - Effectively manage a team of people, health care records, resident care and monitoring department financials.
- Roll-up your sleeves - Take a hands-on approach to leading, mentoring, and filling in as required. Oversee and supervise medication administration, delivery of services and clinical programs.
- Comply - Follow all relevant The 4LA3 Grand River Hospital, Provincial and Federal Acts and Regulations.
- Cultivate - Build and maintain strong relationships with the community residents and family members, employees, and managers along with the regional support team and agencies.
What You Bring
- Degree or Diploma relevant to the field of Healthcare and/or Policy in Ontario
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical experience and one (1) year of leadership experience
- Above average computer skills

- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
